Trigger Engineering and Consulting PTY LTD now offers advanced additive manufacturing for functional components, production parts, jigs and fixtures, prototypes and difficult-to-source replacement components. Rather than simply printing a supplied 3D model, we can assess the application, operating environment and loads to determine the most appropriate material, design and manufacturing process.

Our capabilities range from general-purpose polymers and flexible materials through to carbon-fibre reinforced engineering polymers including PA, PPA and PPS. For highly loaded applications, we are also developing continuous carbon-fibre reinforced components, allowing reinforcement to be strategically placed through a part to substantially increase stiffness and strength where it is required.

The right material for the application.

Trigger Engineering's additive manufacturing capability extends from flexible TPU and general engineering polymers through to carbon-fibre reinforced nylon, PPA and PPS, as well as continuous-fibre composites. We select the material around the component's mechanical loads, temperature, chemical exposure, wear requirements and operating environment — rather than designing the component around the printer.

Material availability and suitability are application dependent. Additional specialist grades can be sourced and qualified for specific production requirements.

More than a 3D printing service

Because additive manufacturing operates within Trigger Engineering, we aren't restricted to what comes off the printer. Components can be redesigned, machined, fitted with metal inserts, combined with fabricated components or manufactured using a hybrid of additive and conventional processes. Our objective isn't to 3D print a part simply because we can — it's to determine the most practical way to manufacture it.

Additive manufacturing is particularly well suited to replacement and obsolete components, jigs and fixtures, complex low-volume parts and production runs where conventional tooling would be expensive or impractical. It can also allow businesses to replace physical spare-parts inventory with digital inventory, producing components on demand when they're required.
